Starting with safety, the Z8 L gets three notable additions over the standard Z8 – front parking sensors, a front camera and a driver drowsiness monitor. Other safety tech like electronic stability control (ESC), hill start assist, six airbags and tyre pressure monitoring are all standard features.

Moving on to comfort and features, the biggest differentiator on the Z8 L is the 12-speaker Sony 3D sound system that comes with a dual channel subwoofer and an electrically adjustable driver seat. Additionally, the Z8 L could also get the option of captain seats in the second row – a feature not offered on the Z8, though it is only offered in the 2WD spec. The four-wheel-drive Z8 L diesel automatic variant also gets a wireless phone charger.

The diesel SUV can also be optioned with four-wheel drive in both manual and automatic variants. The petrol engine produces 197 bhp and 380 Nm (370 Nm with manual gearbox) of torque, while the diesel variant produces 172 bhp and 400 Nm (370 Nm with manual gearbox).
